Hello my name is Marieke. I live and work in Ghent, Belgium, a wonderful small but vibrant city. Me and my BF live in the old harbor neighborhood of the city, the MUIDE. A peninsula with a very interesting mix of people: old roustabouts and boatpeople, a big Turkish and Bulgarian community, some refugees and a lot of artists and musicians. Among those are amazing people like graphic artist Jan Van der Veken (http://www.janvanderveken.be/), visual artists Berlinde De Bruyckere, Elke Boon (http://www.elkeandreasboon.com), Willem Boel, musicians PJDS, Köhn (https://kohn.bandcamp.com/), Sioen (http://www.sioen.net/) and many many more!
Our neighborhood has a canal running through it, where boats pass by and it’s really nice to walk along the water. Around the corner is a very nice welcoming coffeehouse FrouFrou. Francis, the owner, serves besides croques, salads and pancakes also coffee brewed by his neighbor Louis Vandekerckhove. Louis and his wife have their own coffeeshop in the center of town (https://www.vandekerckhove1854.be/). As you can guess, I’m quite a double espresso-addict :)
Currently I work as a curator in an international arts centre in the heart of town: Vooruit. Besides this, I love to travel, enjoy good and healthy food, have a good glass of wine (http://www.wijnbar-edelrot.be/), go for a walk, make my own work and dream about our tiny house to be :)

Marieke zingt af en toe uit de toon maar zeker niet vals!
Marieke verkleedt zich graag.
Marieke eet heel graag zwarte chocolade.
Marieke haar hoofd is eigenlijk klein maar er kan zo veel in!
Marieke vindt hetzelfde over haar hart.
Marieke gaat heel graag slapen met de verhaaltjes van Toon Tellegen.
Marieke houdt van sneeuw. Maar ook van zon!
Marieke drinkt graag Earl Grey thee. Maar ook groene met jasmijn.
Marieke gaat graag naar theater en naar de cinema.
Marieke vindt boomhutten héél leuk.
Marieke klimt graag naar de top van een berg.
Marieke haar lievelingskleur is rood. Maar soms ook blauw.
Marieke vindt storm heel leuk!!!!!
Af en toe gaat Marieke naar de bomen en de dieren in het bos. Dat vindt ze leuk.
